Pinjar film is based on a Punjabi novel by the same, written by Amrita Pritam. Hindustan (Urdu name for India) used to a vast territory and countries' like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangla Desh, and Bhutan were all it's provinces.
