Charmy Kaur, who doesn"t have a hit to her credit for the past several years, kept high hopes on Nagaram Nidra Pottunna Vela. The storyline for the film is quite powerful and if the story would have handled by an able director, it would have got a positive result. However, the inept handling of the subject by the director, who himself has penned an insipid screenplay for the film, has added another film to her flop list. The crowd pulling factors are the names of Charmy Kaur and Jagapathi Babu, but these names are not just enough to make a film a success.

Story:
Niharika (Charmy Kaur) is a journalist in a news channel run by a greedy and money-minded MD (Ahuti Prasad). He always wants to cash in on the chances and look for subject that increases the TRP rating. Niha has a lot of concern about the society and wants to highlight the plight of fluoride victims and other such human-interest stories. During the course, she records a crooked politician (Pilla Prasad)'s conversation on a pen camera. His plan is to ignite the communal disturbances in the state. Thus, forcing the party high command to remove the present CM. He wants be become CM. However, he came to know that his conversation has been recorded and orders his brother-in-law to kill the journalist. Meanwhile, during one of the attempts to kill her by the goons, Sivaram Prasad (Jagapati Babu) saves her life. He has a sorrowful background – parents commit suicide unable to repay debts, sister gets killed by her husband for more dowry. He is addicted to liquor after he lost his family. However, Niha and Sivaram fall in love. At this jucture, gives the pen camera to her MD, who sells it off for Rs 100 crore. What happens next should be seen on-screen.

Performance:
Charmy Kaur has done a neat job. In fact, such characters are a cakewalk for her. Surprisingly, she has shot the film in decent dresses and without skin show. Jagapatibabu is okay in a guest role. His role comes and goes in an insignificant way. His character is not properly established in the film. The director ended his character in a most unscrupulous way. Among others, it is Pilla Prasad, who steals the show as a crooked politician. Though, there are a host of senior artistes including Ahuti Prasad, Chandra Mohan, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao and others, the director has failed to make use of their talent.

Technical:
The storyline is good. Especially, when there are people"s movements by Anna Hajare and Ramdev and others, such film will have a great impact on the people. However, the director has failed to narrate the story in a proper manner. Dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers are powerful. Gopalakrishna himself played one of the roles to express the value of women in the society. The first half appears a little interesting. The director groped in the dark in the second half by dividing into various sub-plots. The immaturity of the director spoiled the entire film.

Remarks:
When one has to say a message through a film, it should be point blank and touch the hearts and minds of people with an impressive narration. Otherwise, the basic purpose of the film goes haywire.
