A landlord (Ahuti Prasad) in Konaseema arrangeshis daughter Sasirekha's (Genelia) marriage against her wishes with an NRI boy Abhimanyu (Tarun). She wanted to know her fiance before marriage. Sasi's father pays huge dowry besides property to Abhi's father Gopalakrishna (Paruchuri Gopalakrishna), an advocate in Vijayawada for the marriage. To avoid the marriage, she runs away from her house in the bride's attire. Sasi accidentally meets Abhi, who recognizes her. So, Abhi befriends her as Anand and agrees to accompany her till she reaches Hyderabad.
They encounter many problems during their journey and even lose the jewellery bag when Abhi was holding it. Sasi insists that Abhi should recover the bag as it was lost from his hands. Abhi uses his influence and manages to get back the bag. Even as they continue their journey against all odds, Sasi's father sends people in search of his daughter. They catch a lorry to Hyderabad and incidentally come across a group of agitators who have been fighting against price rise. Sasi gets injured when the agitation turns violent and police resorts to lathi charge. Sasi proclaims her love and wish to marry Abhi when they are on their way to the hospital. Eventually Sasi realizes that her marriage was fixed with none other Abhi and so the film ends on a happy note with the marriage of Abhi and Sasi.
PLUS: Director Krishnavamsi started cooking a dish in a perfect manner. However, he spoiled the dish by making an experiment while putting unnecessary twists. While knitting a beautiful design, he changed the course and finally it turned out to be a cobweb and he could not wriggle out the cobweb properly. As far as performance, Genelia did a nice job. Though she appeared that she is still in the 'Bommarillu' trance as she continued the innocent face in many scenes and her dialogue delivery, histrionics reminded the audiences of Hasini again. Tarun once again proved that is a seasoned artiste, as he faced the camera as a child artiste and rose to the level of hero. However, the director seemed to have fixed his mind to cash in on the success ratio of Genelia rather than the successive flops of Tarun. More footage was given only to the heroine than the hero. The first one hour of the film is a highlight as the director maintained considerable pace in his regular style.
MINUS: Unfortunately, one can find several lapses in Krishnavamsi's direction. How can a girl who is pursuing her graduation come out in a bride's attire despite knowing the fact that there are several thieves who can steal the jewellery. Moreover, any influential person can easily catch hold of a girl in few hours especially while escaping from a tiny coastal village. The girl starts from Konaseema and reaches Vijayawada first and from there again goes towards Nagarjuna Sagar and then makes her way towards Hyderabad which is really a cumbersome route. Moreover, all the character sound loud, but none of them are noteworthy. Either the cinematographer or the art director or the director could have made use of the green fields of Konaseema.
REMARKS: Had the director not deviated from his natural course, the film would have been good. The over enthusiasm of Krishnavamsi could be noticed from the unparliamentary and indecent (vulgar) dialogues written for Ahuti Prasad and at times for Genelia. It appears a little sadistic in nature. Moreover, the dialogues used to slam the hero's father by the heroine especially in front of the hero is unbecoming. Because of all these drawbacks, the fantastic tunes scored by Manisharma have gone unnoticed. Though the climax song is very melodious it has really killed the film. The movie ends with the song leaving the audiences wondering why Krishnavamsi ended with a song when hey were eagerly waiting for another climax.
