Some pairs prove big hits and the audiences look forward for such hit pairs. Earlier, pati Babu-Priyamani has proved a successful pair in Madan directed film Pellaina Kothalo. Now, he has chosen the same pair again for his latest movie Pravarakhyudu. His selection is very apt for the characters and they prove as the best in this film again. But the director"s eagerness to establish love between the hero and heroine has turned boring. If MR Varma had sharpened his scissors a little more to cut the prolonged scenes in the second half, the film would have been more appealing.

Sailaja (Priyamani) falls in love with him, but he leaves for London and becomes a professor in Harvard University in zoology. Later, he returns to India. When his parents and his friends look several alliances for him, he decides that Sailaja is the best. On learning that Sailaja has become the principal of a women"s college, he joins the college as a lecturer. What happens next will form the rest of the story.
PLUS: The first half of the film up to the film runs with college in its backdrop, the film moves on very smoothly. The director runs the story with good movement and has a perfect grip on the subject. However, from the moment the hero and heroine leave for South Africa, the entire abroad episode is a big headache. The episodes involving Hamsanandini and Anita Nath are good to watch. The characterisation of the hero is excellent all through the film. pati Babu is suited at his best in sentiment scenes and in the scenes where he convinces the girls that the real love did not lie in physical attraction but it is a real feel, is very good. Priyamani appears perfectly fit to the role. She reminded the audiences of Jamuna and Jayaprada of yesteryears. She was apt for arrogant, headstrong and self-esteemed role. Comedy by Brahmanandam, Ali, Sunil and AVS is okay for the film. As far as technicians, Keeravani has done a wonderful job and all the songs are good to listen and have been composed in western style. The choreography is also okay. Camera work by Surender Reddy is good in parts. Dialogues by Madan are good in parts and the way the hero explains the role of love to the heroine is very inspiring.
MINUS: Though pati Babu is okay in his role, his hairstyle does not suit him well. The choreography of songs is okay but pati Babu does not suit in most of the songs. He could not do justice to any of the songs and all of them appear cinematic. The director has lost grip on the film in the second half and is just prolonged and taken considerable time to establish the love between the hero and heroine. As a result, the film is prolonged for more than two hours and 20 minutes, which is a little larger for viewing. The audiences appear moving in an embarrassing manner as they could not wait for such a long time. Almost all the songs are good to hear but the poor performance by the hero has forced them to leave their seats for a cigarette. They are unable to understand the concept for a long time, until the hero explains how he misunderstood his mother and what the real love means.
REMARKS: The film is aimed at family audiences and the director"s wavelength suits well and it has been perfectly tuned. However, the second half was poorly narrated and hence there is a biggest disappointment. Despite excellent performance by the hero and heroine, and the supporting artistes, the film may not get adequate response as the second half is dragged like a hell. The film may go well with 'A" class audiences but it may not attract the 'B", 'C" classes as it has no mass masala elements and action scenes.
