Telugu actor Kamalakar Reddy dies at young age

Telugu actor Boochepalli Kamalakar Reddy, who is known for his film Abhi, died following some Neurological problems on Saturday. The 34-year-old actor, who hails from Cheemakurthi in Prakasam district, was recently admitted to a hospital in Chennai, where he breathed his last. He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter.

Kamalakar Reddy, who is the brother of Darsi MLA B Sivaprasad Reddy, had been suffering from nerves disorder. He reportedly slipped and fell down at the audio release function of his forthcoming film Band Balu in Hyderabad on June 24. Later, he was rushed to Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.

He entered the film industry as producer-cum-hero with the Telugu film Abhi. Later, he also acted in Hasini and Sanchalanam besides producing them. He was expected to dazzle the screen with his fourth outing Band Balu, which is currently in post-production stage and is slated for release this month.

Kamalakar was one of the most enthusiastic actors in Tollywood. He had immense amount of faith in himself and his skills. His brother is a politician and he could have made it big in the film industry. But he wanted to stand in Tollywood without any political support. So he hardly sought any help from his brother. He had dreamt of becoming a superstar, but his fate, which had different plans, took him away at very tender age creating an irreplaceable vied.

Kamalakar's Debut In Tollywood

Kamalakar Reddy hailed from Cheemakurthi in Prakasam district and was the brother of Darsi MLA B Sivaprasad Reddy. He made his debut as an actor and producer with the movie Abhi, which had hit the screens on April 2, 2004.

Kamal's Romance With Sonali In Abhi

Abhi, which was directed by Dr Kiran, was a romantic-action entertainer. Kamalakar Reddy romanced newcomer Sonali Joshi and their chemistry was one of the main highlights in the movie, which had done a decent business at the Box Office.

Abhi Story

Abhi is a revenge-drama revolving around Ravindra (Suresh), who sends Gowry Shankar (Satya Prakash) to jail and also kills his brother. In bid to take revenge, Gowry Shankar plans to kidnap Ravindra's sister Preeti (Sonali Joshi), who is in love with her classmate Abhi (Kamalakar). The rest of the film is all about how Abhi rescues Preeti from the goons and wins appreciation from Ravindra.

Kamalakar's Second Movie

After six years gap, Kamalakar returned to big screen with his second movie Hasini, which was directed by BV Ramana. The young actor paired with actress Sandhya for the film. Released on May 07, 2010, the movie was a decent hit at the Box Office.

Hasini Story

The story of Hasini revolved around Hasini (Sandhya), who meets Kamal (Kamalakar) in a train. She catches a petty thief (Ali), who is running away with Kamal's ring, but she misses the train. With her bag and money left in the train, she goes to Kamal's village and stays at his house, where she falls flat to the affection of his family. But an unexpected twist forces her to leave his house. What happens next will form crux of the story.

Kamalakar's Third Movie Sanchalanam

Kamalakar's next film Sanchalanam was an action thriller, for which he was teamed up with BV Ramana Reddy for the second time. Talented actors like Saikumar and Ashish Vidyarthi played important roles in it. Released on July 29, 2011, the movie did a wonderful business at the AP Box Office.

Sanchalanam Story

Sanchalanam is all about young brave guy Vikram (Kamalakar), who saves Nancharamma (Kinnera) from committing suicide. But police officer Nandagopal (Saikumar) arrests Vikram for unknown reason. Why does Nancharamma attempt to commit suicide? Why does Nandagopal arrest Vikram? The rest of the story will answer these questions.

Kamalakar's Fourth Outing - Band Balu

Before his death, Kamalakar completed shooting for his fourth production Band Balu, which features Kamna Jethmalani as his love interest and Chandra Mohan, Brahmanandam, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Banerjee will appear in supporting cast.

Band Balu Release Date

Directed by Chinthalapudi Venkat, Band Balu is touted to be a romantic entertainer. The movie is currently in the post-production stage and is expected to hit the screens on August 06, 2013. Kamalakar had organised a grand function for the music release of Band Balu in Hyderabad on June 24.

Kamalakar's Sudden Death

Addressing the audio release function, Kamalakar had expressed his hope that Band Balu would be a big hit in his career. but he died before the release of the movie. His sudden death has shocked everyone in Tollywood. Movie Artists Association (MAA) president M Muralimohan has condoled the death of Kamalakar Reddy.
