Hyderabad: Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor has slammed the reports stating that she has signed Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's forthcoming movie Aagadu, which is directed by Srinu Vaitla. It was rumoured that the B-Town girl would foray into Telugu films through Prince's movie and she has been roped in to play the female lead opposite him.
The rumours started doing rounds after a leading English daily reported that writer Kona Venkat has confirmed Sonam Kapoor's casting for Aagadu. "Yes, we have roped in Sonam Kapoor for this film and Mahesh Babu is confirmed too. We are going to narrate the rest of the story to Mahesh Babu soon," the newspaper quoted his Twitter post.
But Kona Venkat's latest tweet states that the name of Sonam Kapoor is being considered for the film but not finalised yet. The writer tweeted, "For "Aagadu" dir Sreenu Vaitla & producers are contemplating on many heroines and sonam Kapoor is one of them. Nothing is confirmed yet." He added, "In fact no one is confirmed yet including me for Aagadu. So pl don't speculate anything plsssssss.."
However, Aagudu is produced by Anil Sunkara, Gopichand and Ram Achanta, who had earlier produced Dookudu under 14 Reels Entertainments. The film is still in pre-production stages. Mahesh Babu is expected to take its shooting after wrapping Sukumar's untitled project. Earlier, it was also rumoured that Sonakshi Sinha would pair with the Tollywood superstar.
