The much-hyped and highly-anticipated film Ramayya Vastavayya is a mass masala entertainer, which has been written and directed by Gabbar Singh fame Harish Shankar and produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Young tiger Junior NTR and Samantha are playing the lead roles, while Shruti Hassan appears in a crucial role in the movie, which has got 'A' certificate from the Censor Board.
Ramayya Vastavayya is the second combo movie for Junior NTR and Samantha, who have earlier shared screen space in the hit movie Brindavanam. The film was officially launched at Dil Raju's office in Hyderabad on October 18 in 2012. The film unit started its shooting on January 3 and wrapped it up on September 27, 2013. Chota K Naidu has handled the cinematography for the movie.

Jr NTR's Role In RV
Harish Shankar says that Junior NTR is playing a college student, but there are no classroom scenes. He adds, "NTR has a great sense of humour offscreen. So I have tried to bring some of that into his characterisation. Reports suggest that his role has two different shades as a college student and as Police Officer.
Samantha's Role In RV
Samantha will be seen in a very interesting role. Her relationship with the hero starts off with quarrels, but slowly, things change and there will be one twist that will be crucial for the story.
Shruti Hassan's Role In RV
Talking about her role, Harish Shankar says that she accepted the role without knowing about her character. She is not playing the second female lead in this movie. She is portraying a crucial guest role.

Ramayya Vastavayya, which has running length of approximately 2 hours 35 minutes, has got ‘A' Certificate from the regional Censor Board. Sources from the film unit say that the movie has some high voltage action sequences and some raw fights, which forced the Board to award an A Certificate for it.
RV Release Date
Ramayya Vastavayya was initially slated to release on September 27, but the political turmoil in the state delayed the movie. Now, producer Dil Raju has planned to release it in 1500 screens across the globe on October 11.
