Senior actress of South Indian cinema Rajasulochana is no more. She had acted in more than 274 films and paired up with almost all the top artists of the earlier generation such as NT Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Sivaji Ganesan, MG ramachandran, MN Nambiar, Dr Rajkumar, Nagarajan AP, Rajendran SS and several others.
Rajasulochana was the daughter of Bhaktavatsalam. She was born on August 15, 1935 at Vijayawada. She was also trained classical dancer, who learnt it from Lalitha, Dandayudhapani Pillai, Acharyulu, Vempati China Satyam, Krishnakumar, Vishnu Vysarkar and Kalamandalam Madhavan.
She made her debut in Kannada film industry through Gunasagari produced by Gubbi Viranna on the recommendation of HLN Simha. She had no looking back from then onwards. She had married CS Rao, popular actor and director of those days and blessed with two daughters.
The actress had also founded 'Pushpanjali Nritya Kala Kendram', a dance school way back in 1961 in Chennai, which helped hundreds of students to learn dances of all south Indian forms. She had also given dance performances on stage in India and abroad. Her dance dramas had received critical acclaim during those days. She breathed her last at her house at Chennai around 9 am on Tuesday.
