Akkineni Nagarjuna's Telugu action-drama Bhai, which released on Friday worldwide, got decent opening at the Andhra Pradesh Box Office, but has failed to show big jump over the weekend. The film, which is said to have been made on a budget of Rs 42 crore, was affected by heavy rainfall and negative word of mouth in the state. Its first weekend collection is not even one-fourth of its budget. It needs to struggle to recover its production cost.

Trade experts believe that the film is unlikely to break even. Trade analyst Trinath told, "The film couldn't make money in Andhra Pradesh, which is Nagarjuna's home turf, and I doubt if it can make elsewhere." He added, "It collected only Rs 2.88 crore on the first day in the state. Even his last release Greeku Veerudu had a better opening, but Bhai has turned out to be a damp squib."

Nagarjuna's Bhai 3 Days Collection At Box Office

Bhai features Nagarjuna, Richa Gangopadhyay, Prasanna and Sonu Sood in the lead roles. The Veerabhadram-directed film is the story of a don, who is sent to Hyderabad to eliminate an undercover cop. The movie has collected approximately Rs 10 crores nett at the worldwide Box Office in the first weekend.

Bhai, produced by Nagarjuna, had a solo release, and therefore, was expected to have a grand opening. Trinath said, "It's very unlikely to have a solo release nowadays since a minimum of three films battle it out at the Box Office every week. Bhai had that advantage to take a good opening, but it couldn't due to the bad content."
