Hyderabad: Popular writer Kona Venkat, who has penned script for director Srinu Vaitla's movie Baadshah, has blamed Hyderabad police for death of Junior NTR fan Raju, who died in a stampede at the music release function of the film Baadshah. The scriptwriter says that Police lathi charge was the reason for the stampede. He has the video of this incident and he is ready to appear in court as an eyewitness.
Kona Venkat, who was very upset with the negligence and irresponsible behaviour of the police, took to his Twitter page and left a series of tweets on the incident. He tweeted, "Very very unfortunate that an hardcore Jr Ntr fan died today due to the over action of some cops.. I was an eye witness of their arrogance." He added, "My heart felt condolences to the family.. Never seen Tarak so upset.. He meant every word he spoke.. May his soul rest in peace.."
The scriptwriter also revealed that director Srinu Vaitla has been deeply saddened by the mishap. Kona Venkat wrote, "Sreenu Vaitla was genuinely moved by the incident.. He had become very emotional, from whatever I know of him he is very soft hearted.."
Jr NTR's emotional speech on his fan's death
The producers had made seating arrangements for 15,000 people, but 25,000 people had attended the music launch of Baadshah. Replying his follower, who blamed arrangement for the incident, Kona Venkat tweeted, "It was not the fault of the producer.. Many people colour xeroxed the passes and came.. Ganesh was very upset." He added, "My bro Bandla Ganesh was very genuine in his reaction.. He should not be blamed for the incident.. Few over acting cops were responsible."
Meanwhile, Kona Venkat revealed that he has proof for the irresponsible behaviour of the police. He wrote, "There is video footage of the incident.. Police lathi charge was the reason for the stampede.. If they don't erase it truth would come out." He added, "I'm prepared to come to any court as an eyewitness and disclose the names of those arrogant cops who are responsible for this incident."
