Bapu Honoured At South Filmfare Awards
Veteran Telugu filmmaker Sattiraju Lakshmi Narayan aka Bapu feels ecstatic after receiving the lifetime achievement award at the 60th South Filmfare awards and says awards and recognition help in boosting one's morale.

Talking to IANS, Bapu revealed excitement about receiving life-time achievement award. He said, "I'm extremely happy to receive the lifetime achievement award. I feel awards are always special no matter how big or small they might be. It helps in boosting one's morale irrespective of the time."

However, he says high expectations can also affect one's morale. "As a filmmaker I never expected to be awarded because I felt it could lead to affecting one's self-esteem. When you expect and award and it doesn't come to you, the result of it might have immense affect on you and therefore it's best to let your work do the talking," he said.

The 79-year old, who was awarded the Padma Shri earlier this year, is known for directing Telugu films such as Mr Pellam, Sri Rama Rajyam and Mutyala Muggu. He also has two National film awards, three Filmfare awards and five Nandi awards to his credit in his four-decade long career.
