In 2012, Telugu film industry, which is the biggest industry in South India, has already released 150 movies, including 47 dubbed films. Another 10 movies, including three dubbed films are slated to hit the screens in this year. Barring dubbed versions, Tollywood has produced a total of 117 movies. When compared to previous year, 2012 seems to be very lucky year as many films have become big hits at the Box Office.
Most-hyped Telugu movies like Gabbar Singh, Eega, Business Man, Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu, Racha, Julayi, Sudigadu, Damarukam, Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, Denikaina Ready have struck gold at the Box Office in 2012. Besides getting rave reviews from film critics, these films have also set new records at the collection centres in India as well as overseas. Some of them have done even better business than a big Bollywood flicks this year.
There are some other movies like Dhammu, Daruvu, Adinayakudu, Endhukante Premanta, Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara, Devudu Chesina Manushulu, Srimannarayana, Life Is Beautiful, Shirdi Sai, Rebel, which had a huge hype surrounding them, failed to make it big at the Box Office. Though they are not flops, they have failed to collect expected amount of money.

Gabbar Singh
Gabbar Singh, which was made with a budged of Rs 28 crores, was released on May 11 and received an earth-shattering response at the Box Office. It has shattered all opening records of 81 years of Telugu Cinema. It has completed 50 days in 306 centers. Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Hassan starrer, which has raked in approximately Rs 120 crores, is the first film to start club of 100 crore films in Tollywood.
