Pictures: Super-hit Telugu movies at Box Office in 2012

In 2012, Telugu film industry, which is the biggest industry in South India, has already released 150 movies, including 47 dubbed films. Another 10 movies, including three dubbed films are slated to hit the screens in this year. Barring dubbed versions, Tollywood has produced a total of 117 movies. When compared to previous year, 2012 seems to be very lucky year as many films have become big hits at the Box Office.

Most-hyped Telugu movies like Gabbar Singh, Eega, Business Man, Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu, Racha, Julayi, Sudigadu, Damarukam, Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, Denikaina Ready have struck gold at the Box Office in 2012. Besides getting rave reviews from film critics, these films have also set new records at the collection centres in India as well as overseas. Some of them have done even better business than a big Bollywood flicks this year.

There are some other movies like Dhammu, Daruvu, Adinayakudu, Endhukante Premanta, Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara, Devudu Chesina Manushulu, Srimannarayana, Life Is Beautiful, Shirdi Sai, Rebel, which had a huge hype surrounding them, failed to make it big at the Box Office. Though they are not flops, they have failed to collect expected amount of money.

Gabbar Singh

Gabbar Singh, which was made with a budged of Rs 28 crores, was released on May 11 and received an earth-shattering response at the Box Office. It has shattered all opening records of 81 years of Telugu Cinema. It has completed 50 days in 306 centers. Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Hassan starrer, which has raked in approximately Rs 120 crores, is the first film to start club of 100 crore films in Tollywood.

Eega

Graphical action extravaganza Eega has opened to an overwhelming response at the Box Office in India and overseas. It is the third movie to gross $1 million at the USA Box Office. It is also one among the fastest Rs 50 grosser movies in India. It has completed 50 days in 48 centers.

Business Man

Businessman, which has been directed by Puri Jagannath, is one of the big blockbuster Telugu movies of the year 2012. The Mahesh Babu and Kajal Aggarwal starrer opened to fantastic response and has collected approximately Rs 72 crores nett at the worldwide Box Office.

Racha

Racha starring Ram Charan and Tamanna in leads, was made with a budget of Rs 28 crores. The movie grossed around 48 crores in Andhra Pradesh alone and its Tamil and Malayalam versions collected Rs 7 crores taking its worldwide total to Rs 63 crores. It has completed 50 days in over 140 centers and 127 screens in AP alone and 100 days in over 38 centers.

Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu

The year 2012 is obviously the year of Power Star Pawan Kalyan. His second movie Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu has become a super-hit movie at the Box Office. Although its screenings were stopped initially due to some controversies, the movie has picked up well in the later days and done a wonderful collection. It has raked in approximately Rs 60 crores nett so for.

Julayi

Julayi opened to a positive talk, which boosted its collection at the Box Office. Allu Arjun and Ileana starrer has collected approximately Rs 40 crores in 5 weeks in AP alone. It has collected $0.90 Million at the USA Box Office. It has collected Rs 5 crores from Karnataka and Kerala. So far it has collected approximately Rs 55 crores.

Sudigadu

Sudigadu, which has been directed by Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao, has become a huge success at the Box Office, creating several Records in Tollywood. The Allari Naresh and Monal Gajjar comedy film has collected approximately Rs 52.61 crore nett at the worldwide collection centres.

Dhenikaina Ready

Directed by G Nageswara Reddy, Dhenikaina Ready, which received favourable reviews from film critics, is one of the big hit movies of 2012. Despite facing severe setback due to controversies, the Vishnu Manchu and Hansika Motawani starrer has done wonderful collection. It has raked in approximately 50 crores at the Box Office.

Damarukam

Damarukam, which has been directed by Srinivasa Reddy, is the biggest opener at box office in Nagarjuna's career. The Nagarjuna and Anushka Shetty starrer, which was released in over 1,400 theaters worldwide, has collected approximately 47 crores nett at the Box Office.

Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum

Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, which has been directed by Krish, is also one of the biggest openers of the year. The Rana Daggubati and Nayantara starrer, which is still running in theatres, has raked in approximately Rs 42 crores at the Box Office so far.
