Puri Jagannath under Anushka's spell

Anushka
Anushka, who was so far known for her glam-doll roles, proved she could act with her double role in Arundhati. Portraying a sedate princess from the Nawabi era on one hand and a modern girl on the other, Anushka had ample scope to prove her acting skills. She had to learn how to walk and behave like a young princess from the famed Nawabi period in Hyderabad's history. She has an entirely different look – demure, sari-clad with a big bindi – compared to her earlier look.

Not only were ordinary audiences awed by the transformation in her image, Anushka also got an unexpected admirer named Puri Jagannath. The ace director, who has started pre-production work on his next project with Prabhas, was so impressed with her acting skills that he decided to approach Anushka with a very tempting offer. Puri is working on a woman-centric script and who better than Anushka to essay this role?

Having begun her career with Rendu in Kollywood, Anushka then concentrated all her efforts on reaching the top slot in Tollywood. But now, she is making a comeback to Tamil films, starring opposite Vijay in his 49th film.
