Popular heroine Bhumika is entering into the field of film production. She and her husband Bharat Thakur are turning producers by launching their own production unit 'Downtown Films'. The banner was launched at a programme held in Hyderabad. Popular producer Dr D Ramanaidu unveiled the logo of the banner and complimented the Bhumika couple on the occasion. Young Tiger NTR launched the 'Mayanagar' magazine published by Bhumika, while director VV Vinayak inaugurated the website called 'Mayanagar'.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramanaidu said, "Bhumika is to be complimented for turning producer, as she is going to spend the money earned from the film industry again in the same field to provide employment to scores of technicians and artistes. I wish her success as a producer too." KS Rama Rao welcomed Bhumika and Bharat Thakur to the Telugu film industry as producers.

Bhumika remarked, "I have achieved whatever I wanted, through the film industry. I am indebted to the Telugu film industry, which has promoted me as a heroine and encouraged me. I am very happy to enter into the film industry as a producer and also in the media sector. We are launching Thakita Thakita as our debut film under our banner with all new faces under the direction of Srihari Nanu, with the story by Kona Venkat. Senthil would be the cinematographer. The film would go to sets this month itself."
