The daredevil reality show Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao on Sony Television was supposed to last two months but 8 of the 10 celebrities have walked out in the second week itself. This apparently happened after Akashdeep Saigal was asked to perform a task called 'Fill your Face" where he had to put his face into a jar filled with snakes, meal worms and bugs.
He successfully completed the task but realised on his return that his face and neck were bitten and bruised all over. The sight of his face shook the rest of the contestants and eight of them reportedly decided to walk out of the show. Akashdeep later even had a huge spat with the production guys. Singer Anaida who decided to walk out called the show as 'sadistic'.
The contestants were unhappy after not getting the right kind of food to eat for days and were constantly seen cribbing and sulking. This task just acted as the catalyst for their final decision. The producers maintained that the celebrities were well aware of the show"s format before entering it. They added that the participants had an option to quit at any point of the task. Host Mini Mathur also supported the show saying, Akashdeep was asked at least 10 times before doing the task.
There are also reports that the contestants are now demanding for more money to return to the show. The producers deny any such demands by the contestants but are worried that they might not have a show to broadcast for which the sponsorship has already been taken. The producers are now secretly tying to strike a deal with the contestants and with the promise of altering the format of the show.
