Kutty Pisasu - Review

Kutty Pisasu, which is the 121st film of veteran film maker Rama Narayanan, is touted as a complete kids entertainer. The director sticks to his age old formula that was popular in the seventies like Namma Veettu Deivam and Jagan Mohini. The only change is a Robo car that plays the dominant role instead of elephants, snacks and dogs in Kutty Pisasu.

There is nothing new in the storyline and same director often used the same in his Palayathamman (The Vadivelu-Ramya Krishnan portion) and other movies.

The story goes like this...

Priya (Baby Keerthika) is the daughter of a typical Brahmin couple Sangeetha and Ramji. Sangeetha"s father Delhi Ganesh is always mischievous, but all of them pouring love on Priya. But unfortunately, the spirit of Sangeetha"s best friend Kaveri possesses Priya. There is main flashback, which portrays Kaveri and her brother Ganja Karuppa's simple and lovable life. Both have owned an yellow car, which was their priced possession. But their evil cousin Riaz Khan who was to marry her, sacrifices Kaveri to a black magician Mandiramoorthy.

Ganja Karupu dies as he tries to save his sister. His spirit gets locked in the yellow car and after years, he is freed by Kinathadi Kaali Amman (Ramya Krishnan), the village goddess. Ganja Karuppu"s spirit becomes a 18-feet giant called 'Car Man' and kills the baddies. How the spirits takes revenge and good triumphing over evil is told in Rama Narayanan's style!

Baby Keerthika steals the hearts of viewers through her lovable performance and dancing skills. Delhi Ganesh and Ganja Karuppu make some hilarious moments in the flick.

The special effects and graphics are mainly focussed the kids. Particularly, the Panamarathula Vavvalam... (a famous tune in the campus of Presidency College!) song is catchy and nicely pictured. Though the robo car scenes are copied from some old Hollywood films like The Transformers, Rama Narayanan has made it watchable with families.

Verdict: Children Special

Director: Rama Narayanan

Producer: Rama Narayanan

Cast: Sangeetha, Baby Keerthika, Delhi Ganesh, Ganja Karuppu, Riaz Khan

Music: Deva

Camera: Raj Keerthi

Paiya - Review

Lingusamy's Paiya is yet another hero oriented mass masala with a thin romantic coating. The only plus point of the movie is song sequences, thanks to the peppy numbers of composer Yuvan! There is no need for searching a story in.....

Mundhinam Paartheney- Review

Mundhinam Paartheney is a typical love story which narrates the love of two typical upper middle-class youths in an almost realistic manner. It gives a bloom feeling. The story and the treatment of the story are fresh and refreshing amidst.....
