Teamwork Production is producing the movie Paruthi Veeran after the critically acclaimed movie Raam. Leading actor Suriya's brother Karthi is making his debut as hero. Priyamani dons the female lead role.
The cast of this movie includes Ponvannan, Saravanan, Kanja Karuppu and Sambath. This movie's story has a different plot from the stories of movies like Mounam Pesiyadhe and Raam.
It is a real life story of a person who lived in Madurai. To give a realistic touch to the narration, Director Ameer has shot the entire movie in and around Madurai and Theni. This movie reflects the life of village people and their habits.
Karthi and Priyamani are born and bought up in the city. For this movie, Karthi and Priyamani lived with village people and learnt their speech habits and other traits of behaviour.
Ameer has introduced more than 60 new characters in this movie. All the characters have rendered their own voice for dubbing. Yuvan Shankar Raja scores the music for this movie. This is the first ever attempt by Yuvan Shankar Raja to compose music for village songs and he has proved that he is the son of Maestro Ilayaraja.
The director of the movie asked Karthi to sing a few lines of a song and he obliged without knowing that the song was for the movie. Anyway, filmgoers are going to see not only a good actor but also listen to a good singer in the movie. This movie's shooting is over and it is going to be released for this Pongal.
