It's Not Vikram, But Kamal Hassan To Remake Mohanlal's Drishyam

Mohanlal's Drishyam is Malayalam movie in the recent months that had garnered attention from other film industries. Many producers and actors from other industries have expressed their interest to remake it their respective languages. When it comes to Tamil, it was Vikram and then Kamal Hassan, who was bowled over by the content and wanted to remake it in Kollywood.

In the end, it is Kamal Hassan, who has won the race to remake Drishyam in Tamil. Jeethu Joseph, the creator of the original version, will be helming the project in the Tamil too. The forthcoming flick will be jointly produced by Suresh Balaji and George Pious under the banner of Wide Angle Creations. Other cast and crew are yet to be finalised. In the mean time, the same team has decided to remake it in Telugu with Venkatesh in the lead role.

Drishyam starred Mohanlal and Meena in the lead roles. The story of the film is about a happy family's confrontation with a sudden twist of fate and how they react when exposed to the struggling, form the crux of the story.

The original version was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas and it had Anil Johnson and Vinu Thomas' music.
