Despite facing troubles over the release in Tamil Nadu, Kamal Hassan starrer Vishwaroopam was released without any hurdle in the UK and US. The film was well-received by people and made the makers of the film breathe a sigh of relief with positive response.
Vishwaroopam, which made good business in both UK and US in the first weekend, has earned Rs 63.16 lacs (£75,140) in 20 screens in the second weekend. The movie earned £95,676 (Rs 81.23 lacs - Includes Thu previews) in 19 screens and the per screen average worked out to £5,036 (Rs 4.26 lacs) in the first weekend. However, the film has so far collected Rs 1.86 crore from the UK and Ireland Box Office.
In US Box Office
Vishwaroopam had raked in Rs 1.08 crore ($2,03,901) in 43 screens in the second weekend. The per screen average stands at Rs 2.53 lacs ($4,742). So far, the film has earned Rs 4.89 crore in the US. Whereas, the Telugu version of the movie has collected Rs 29.48 ($55,251) in 21 screens. So far, it has earned Rs 89.07 lacs in the US Box Office.
In the opening weekend, Vishwaroopam earned $6,34,912 (Rs 3.43 crores - Includes Thu previews) in 44 screens. The per screen average stood at $14,430 (Rs 7.77 lacs). And the Telugu version of the film raked in $1,02,657 (Rs 55.38 lacs) in 28 screens. The per screen average stood at $3,666 (Rs 1.97 lacs). Tamil Box Office
In the opening weekend, Mani Ratnam's Kadal, which has garnered thumbs down from critics and audience, has done decent business at the UK Box Office. It has earned Rs 20.54 lacs (£24,601) in 12 screens. The per screen average stands at Rs 1.72 lacs (£2,050).
