The South Indian film industry is planning to take an off for a week in order to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema. From September 18 to 24, all stars and technicians from all four languages will be off shoot and they will be part of the celebration.
The event will be organised by South Indian Film Chamber Of Commerce (SIFCC) at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor stadium, Chennai. Talking about the event, Honrary secretary of SIFCC, L Suresh said, “We have planned cultural shows for the four industries. Artists and technicians need to have atleast two to three days of reharsal and they'll have to come to Chennai from other states.”
The President of India and Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala have been invited to grace the event.
“We are also requesting the theatre owners to screen the classics of 1940s, 50s and 60s, of all the four language, through out the week,” Suresh added. SIFCC is planning to hold an exhibition, discussion and contests on film theme.
