Police Denied Permission For Vijay's Hunger Strike

Thalaivaa crew, who had announced to go on hunger strike, demanding the release of the movie in Tamil Nadu is in trouble again. The latest buzz says that the Tamil Nadu Police department has denied the permission for the moviemakers to go on hunger strike in the Chennai city.

On August 16, Thalaivaa director AL Vijay and producer Chandraprakash Jain has sought permission from City police to oblige the crew to go on hunger strike in Chennai.

In his statement, Senior Police official said that the crew had sought permission for holding a one day protest in any place in the city either on August 16 or 17, and we have denied permission.

It is said that Tamil actor Vijay had decided to go on hunger strike demanding the intervention of Tamil Nadu government to smoothen Thalaivaa's relase in Tamil Nadu.

Thalaivaa has already released worldwide, on August 9, expect in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Sources also said that the crew would go on hunger strike once they get permission from police.

On August 7, just two days before Thalaivaa release, theatre owners in Chennai were threatened by a Student Union, named as Oppressed Students Revolutionary Force. Following which they stopped the advance booking and decided not to release the movie without government support.

Notice For Movie Makers

Thalaivaa's crew received a notice from Chennai City Civil Court, on the grounds of the petition filed by SKR Karnan, in which he claimed that Thalaivaa has depicted Tamil leaders, in the poor light.

Petitioner Claimed

SKR Karnan claimed that the story is based on the life of grandfather SS Kandaswamy and father SSK Ramaswamy who lived in Dharavi, Mumbai.

Affected Thalaivaa Box Office

These two controversies made the movie to stall its release in Tamil Nadu, which was expected to be a major setback for the Box Office Collection.

Thalaivaa Pirated DVDs From Other States

Talking about the issue, movie bosses said that the ban on the film has resulted in the circulation of pirated DVDs of the movie from other states.

Crew Working Hard For Release

The crew has sought an appointment with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to resolve the issue, and also working hard to remove the links of the movie uploaded on net.

Talking about Thalaivaa issue, Ilayathalapathy Vijay has requested his fans to inform police if they witness anybody selling pirated DVDs or CDs of Thalaivaa.

Issue Unsolved

Now Thalaivaa makers are not permitted to go hunger strike too. Day by day Thalaivaa's release issue is becoming harder.
