Last week, it was Tamanna Bhatia, whose first Hindi film after a long time was released. The film Himmatwala starring Ajay Devgn neither raked in positive reviews nor the actress made a good impression in her second attempt in Hindi film industry. This week, it's Taapsee Pannu's turn who tested her luck in the B-Town as her much-hyped Chashme Baddoor hit the screens on Friday (April 5).

Taapsee Pannu's Chashme Baddoor with our own Siddharth has got mixed reviews from the critics and audience. But the good news is that the actress, who has made a good name in Tamil and Telugu films, has been sweetly welcomed by the Bollywood fraternity. The glamorous actress has done a commendable job as the majority of critics have given thumbs up for her performance.

Chashme Baddoor is a remake of the 1981 Deepti Naval and Farooq Sheikh starrer film of the same name. Taapsee has stepped into the shoes of Deepti's role in the latest version. Talking about the character, she said, "It is a little unfair to compare the characters without seeing the movie. We have just taken the name and the base storyline. My character, you cannot even think of comparing it with Deepti ma'am. My character is very rebellious and out of the box, where as Deepti ma'am's was of a very coy, saari clad women. If I would have to do that, I would have had a nervous breakdown." Continue reading the story on the slideshow to know what critics have said about her...

Tapsee Is Real, Likeable

Shubhra Gupta of Indian Express wrote, "Taapsee is the only one who feels real, and stays likeable despite the occasional fumble with lines."

Taapsee Pannu Gifted With Fresh Face

Ananya Bhattacharya of Zee was very impressed by Taapsee as she wrote, "Newbie Taapsee Pannu, gifted with a fresh face, comes across as a pleasant gust of air. She is miles away from the Shastriya Sangeet-trainee, 'Chamko' washing powder-selling Neha that Deepti Naval had brought to life in the original, but is lovable in her own special way. With interludes of 'Dum hai boss!' that Seema packs her vocabulary with, she is someone one would take an instant liking to."

Taapsee Pannu Is Easy On The Eyes

Tushar Joshi of DNA wrote, "Taapsee Pannu is easy on the eyes and doesn't grate on your nerves."

Tapasee Is Confident

Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama wrote, "Taapsee, who makes her debut in Hindi movies after acting in South Indian language movies, is vivacious and confident."

Tapasee Totally Forgettable

However, noted critic Anupama Chopra was not impressed by Tapasee as she wrote, "Tapasee Pannu, who at regular intervals has to say 'Dum hai, boss', doesn't fare much better. She's totally forgettable."
