South beauty Amala Paul is all set to make her Bollywood debut. The actress, who is on cloud nine with the success of Thalaivaa, has been roped in to play the female lead in Hindi for the remake of Ramana.

Sources said, "The original had two leading ladies, Simran and Ashima. But, the makers of the Hindi version have tweaked the script, and now, the film will feature only one actress in a prominent role. Amala Paul was given a narration recently, and she will, in all likelihood, sign on the dotted line soon."

Initially, South beauties Shruti Hassan and Ileana D'Cruz's names were shortlisted to play the female lead for Gabbar. But the latest buzz states that Amala has been finalised for the role.

Gabbar will be directed by Krish with Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Prakash Raj and Sonu Sood will be seen in the pivotal roles. The movie is likely to hit screens in August 2014.

Ramana is the 2002 Blockbuster movie, which had Vijaykanth, Simran and Ashima Bala in the lead roles. The story deals with the life of a college professor, who fights against corruption with the help of his students.
