Vikram and Ajith Kumar were honoured with Best Actor and Best Villain awards for their respective roles in Deiva Thirumagal and Mankatha. While the former won the hearts of the audience with his role of a dim-witted adult in AL Vijay's film, the latter impressed his fans in the role of an out-and-out crook in Venkat Prabhu directorial film.
The annual Vijay Awards was held on Sunday (June 17) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. The awards were given for 34 categories, for 143 Tamil films, which were released in 2011. (Click the image to see the pictures of the award ceremony)
The Vijay Awards jury comprised filmmaker KS Ravikumar, cinematographer Rathinavel, actors Yugi Sethu, Nadhiya and Lizzy Priyadarshan, who also choose Engeyum Eppothum as the Best Film, Vetrimaran as the Best Director (Aadukalam) of 2011. Click here to get complete list of the winners.
