Which is the Best Tamil Music Album of 2012?

The year 2012 has been a wonderful for Tamil audience as they got to enjoy a lot of lovely music. Music of all types entertained the audience and many top music directors managed to give chartbuster songs.

The interesting part of the year is that newcomer Anirudh Ravichander became a household name with his 3 album. Especially, his track 'Kolaveri di...' crossed the borders and brought him under limelight. And GV Prakash Kumar entered Bollywood with Akshay Kumar starrer Joker.

However, of all, Harris Jayaraj had a great year, as his couple of albums ruled the market. Yuvan Shankar Raja, D Imman, Vijay Anthony, and legendary music director Ilaiyaraaja also had a good year with some of their albums winning the hearts of the audience.

Billa 2

Yuvan Shankar Raja's music in Billa 2 won the heart of masses. The film had five songs and a theme music. While Na Muthukumar penned the lyrics, Yuvan, Stefny, Shweta Pandit, Tanvi Shah, Suvi Suresh, Andrea Jeremiah and Ranjith lent their voice for songs.

Kumki

Kumki, the launchpad of Sivaji Ganeshan's grandson and Sivaji Prabhu's son Vikram Prabhu, has created a lot of buzz with its music even before the releease. The melodious songs have won the hearts of youth. The film has seven tracks which are composed by D Imman.

Maattrraan

Harris Jayaraj's Maattrraan had five songs and managed to live up to Harris Jayaraj's fans' expectations. The songs made an instant impact on listeners.

Mugamoodi

K's Mugamoodi album was thumping and impressed the listeners with its endearing music. The background score in the film won good marks. The film had four songs and six theme songs.

Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal

Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal starring Amala Paul and Atharvaa has got good publicity with its songs getting popular among audience. GV Prakash Kumar's music is youthful and lively, and the film had seven songs.

Naan

Naan is Vijay Anthony's debut film as an actor and his 25th film as a musician. It became one of the superhit albums of 2012. The film had six songs.

Nanban

Harris Jayaraj's Nanban album had a couple of chartbuster tracks. The film had six songs for which Madhan Karky, Vivega, Na Muthukumar and Pa Vijay penned the songs.

Neethaane En Ponvasantham

Ilaiyaraaja's Neethaane En Ponvasantham has become one of the biggest hit albums of 2012. The film has eight tracks and most of the songs are slow and melodies.

Oru Kal Oru Kannadi

Harris Jayaraj's Oru Kal Oru Kannadi had five songs and the album struck a chord at audio outlets. The tracks were youthful and entertaining.

It was 'Kolaveri di...' which brought the film under the limelight. Newcomer Anirudh Ravichander delivered variety of songs in the album and the melodious tracks attracted audience.
