Selvaraghvan's Mayakkam Enna has opened up to mixed response at the Tamil Box Office. Despite getting positive response from the critics, the recently released movie has not impressed a section of the audience.
Traders say that Mayakkam Enna had a decent start on the first shows on its opening day. However, good word-of-mouth, which spread like a wildfire among urban audience, boosted the collections on the Friday evening shows.
On Saturday and Sunday, Mayakkam Enna had 80-95% occupancy on most of the multiplexes in Chennai. Traders add that it had somewhere around 55-65% occupancy on single screens on the release day and it improved by 10-15% during the weekends.
However, the movie has not gone well with the mass audience, as it does not have regular masala elements. It affected the movie to some extent, concludes a source.
