Asin Thottumkal's Sri Lankan visit is turning out to be a nightmare for the actress as Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA) has decided to boycott her movies. Asin, who went to the island nation for the Bollywood movie Ready is facing the wrath of Tamil organizations.

“The Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America will boycott films of Asin because of her visit to Sri Lanka despite a ban by the Tamil film industry." Indiatimes quoted FeTNA chief Palani Sundaram as saying.

FeTNA is an umbrella organization of many local North American Tamil organizations. It represents more than 30 local organizations.

Now, South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) has formed a committee to look into this matter. Meanwhile, Asin says that she has already spoken to SIFAA chief Sarath Kumar and she will respect committees stand on her Sri Lankan visit.

Earlier, SIFAA had warned actors not to travel to Colombo for IIFA awards and threaten to boycott film festival. Many actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Namitha, Genelia and others cancelled their trip at the eleventh hour. But, the stars like Salman Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Lara Dutta and others attended film fest and now they have been banned.

In response to "someguy", maybe Asin in simply acting mature and getting over this war - something many Tamils fail to do.

are you people out of your mind... I am from canada and thousands of Sri Lanakan born people living in Canada visit Sri Lanka during summer holidays... if these people are willing to visit, why can't an actress who wasn't born their and she went there to work.. let people living their fight their battle.. you are only hurting people involved in making the movie... be practical

Big stars like Kamla and Rajini boycotted this IIFA function. Amitab Bachan resigned from his ambassador position of IIFA, dropped his visit to Srilanka solely to show respect to Tamil sentiments at the request of our Tamil film organizations. Now if Asin is let to get away with this act, whatever the other stars did becomes useless, they are all made to look like fools. It is totally unfair. If Asin is accepted into Tamil films again, there is no meaning of having these Tamil...

Asin is definitely to be penalized. Her act of visiting the tamil camps along with the Rajapaksa's wife is totally unacceptable. If she wanted to help the Tamils there, there are other ways she could have done it. Why join the Rajapaksa's wife and visit the tamila, representing rajapaksa and his family in good light? She definitely does not care about the Tamils or the Tamil film organizations, she wants to make news some way and gain other advantages to salvage her already sinking career. well...

Tamils, war is over. Get over it and let the country rebuild itself. Disappointed to see prominent actors bullied into standing down for monetary gain.

she is just an actor not an evaluator of the present tense situation in the srilanka and she has fallen prey to Salmonkon's over heroism.

Asin was touring in company of Sri Lankan President's wife and military men giving PR boost to the war criminals. This is hurting feelings of Tamils around the world and this action is appropriate.
