Aayirathil Oruvan
With accordance to deletion few 'bold" sequences in second half, Aayirathil Oruvan is witnessing good response amongst the box office results. But, Selvaraghavan is completely disappointed with media channels spreading news about Selva"s inspiration from Hollywood"s Time Line.

Indeed, he had challenged that if the journalists are going to prove it, he"s ready to quit films. Later, he sorted out the issue saying that when everyone is appreciating a Hollywood film like Avatar, why they don"t encourage their own Tamil film.

Similarly, when inquired about the open ending climax of Aayirathil Oruvan with a note 'the journey of Chola will continue", the maverick filmmaker revealed that he"ll soon start shooting for the sequel. By nature, open endings aren"t always encouraged amongst Tamil audiences, which was evident in several films.

people are just so dum, first of all, RIGHT at the start it says, this is all imagination and it has nothing to do with the real history, and secondly it will actualy encourage a tamil who doesnt know about their history to do research and find out more. I love the cholas more than anyone else, yet i was not offended because i knew that was not his intention. if people think other wise, i dont know what eyes your are watching it with. it was an amazing film and he is a brilliant director.

wow give it to tamil directors to steal! the unfair depection of the chozha dinesty itself was a disgrace to our history. Chozha's were the first to develop democracy...and he depicts them to be barbarians....meh

I agree with mr selva this is to be considered a breakthrough in tamil cinema, we should encourage these inspired filmmakers who dare to take such a critical subject matter

It's a copy of King soloman's mines(1985). Selva is a stealer and doing a copy of old english film how can he expect respect. Tamils are not fools.
