The maestro of Bharatanatyam art, Dr Padma Subramaniam and noted Tamil poetess Tamilachi Thangapandian praised the dancing skills of Yazhini, one of the deciples of Narthaki Natraj at a programme titled Tamil Amuthu held at Bharathiya Vidhya Bhavan on Sunday evening.
Yazhini, a close relative of ace film director and Tamil activist Seeman and daughter of Canada based Raja Kulasingham performed classical Bharatanatyam for selected Tamil classical songs.
Particularly, her performance for a song based on a Sangam Tamil poem recieved a thunderous applause from the visitors.
Tamilachi Thangapandian praised the young dancer a lot and wished she would touch a new high like Padma Subramaniam in future.
Directors Thankar Bachan and other film personalities also graced the occasion.
