Naan Kadavul: 'Late a Vanthalum latest'!
Naan Kadavul audio was launched amidst a well gathered crowd at Sathyam Cinemas on the auspicious day of New year 2009.

Actors Vikram and Surya, veteran film makers Mani Ratnam and Balu Mahendra, Poet Vaali, Music composer Uttam Singh, Producers Ramanarayanan, K.Muralidharan, Pyramid Swaminathan, Kalaipuli Sekharan and K.S Srinivasan were present at the function and hailed the extra ordinary efforts of ace film maker Bala, the director of Naan Kadavul.

The audio of the film was launched by Vikram and Surya, the actors who got a new lease of life through Bala. A stunning trailer of the film was shown to the invitees and the press at the beginning of the event.

[an error occurred while processing this directive]Vaali, the poet who wrote all the songs in this film, said, "Bala is a man of few words, as he likes to let his films do all the talking. To use a Rajinikanth punchline, Late aa Vandhalum latestaa Varum!"

Mani Ratnam in his special address commented, "There used to be the K.Balachander, then the Bharatiraja era, and today there is the Bala influence in Tamil cinema. I came for this function for Bala…"

Vikram said, "Bala is an institution by himself. I like the trailer it has the Bala stamp of quality. Arya is going to reach dizzy heights with this film."

Surya remarked, "The trailer shows that it has the Bala touch of class. Arya may have worked over two years on the project and definitely he will gain from this experience. A Bala film is an event by itself and need not have a Diwali or Pongal for its release. I'm a great fan of Raja sir and this is one more master piece by the maestro…"

Arya commented, "For over two years people had questions only about my long beard and why the film is taking so long. Now that the film is over and I have taken off my beard for Vishnu's Sarwam, the same people are asking me when will the film release?"

Pooja: "I'm completely at loss of words. I owe everything to Bala sir for giving me a once in a life time role. Bala is a great human being… Bala sir, I love you so much!"

Balu Mahendra said, "Bala is like my eldest son, then there is Vetri Maaran, all of them have enriched Tamil cinema."

Uttam Singh, the popular Hindi composer proudly said, "I helped Ilayaraja with some North Indian flavour for the music of the film. I have worked with Ilayaraja for the last 30 years. He is the only complete Indian composer who can bring about some changes to Indian music."

Bala refused to sit on the stage along with others. Towards the end of the function his students Vikram Surya and Arya went down the dais and dragged him on to stage. When the mike was thrust into his hands, all that Bala said was, "I thank everybody who has turned up for the function" and left the stage.
