Kamal addressed the audience at the FCCI 2009 on 19th Feb, Thursday at South Cinema. The audiences gave him a standing ovation and there was lot of appreciation for his comments in the industry and his passion for films.
Kamal said, “From my experience, there is no point in crying and running to mamas / papas (government officials) regarding the problems of the industry. We have to grow up to face the situation and manage our problems on our own. I think that there is an ailment of fear in Tamil cinema and that is because they do not allow the entry of corporate companies. Business of cinema must welcome everyone to come in."
Vested interests have delayed the entry of technology in cinema (he meant labs) and hence there is a fear about the digital technology. He has bought Red cameras and will be using the same in his next film. Platforms of exhibition will increase and it is good for the cinema, especially multiplexes."
He further said, “The audience is the King finally. No point in debating about whether content is king or actor or director is the king of a film. No film is small or big till it proves to the audience. I embrace changes continuously."
Once again Kamal has clearly told that he doesn't want to enter politics and according to him politics is not a business and it will be dangerous if it has become one for the country.
Kamal also urged the industry to recognize the video industry which very much helpful for the growth of Tamil Cinema.
