Ajith's Asal has been in the pre-production stage for the last few months. Gautham Menon was supposed to direct it but was replaced by director Saran as the producers thought that the former was taking a long time to write the script.
The latest we hear is that music director Harris Jayaraj too has been eased out of the project as he could not deliver the tunes on time.
Harris confirmed the development and said, "Yes... I'm quitting from Asal. But it is my own decision. The producers took a long time to finalise the script. However, by that time, I got busy with KS Ravi Kumar's project Aadhavan, starring Surya, and a Telugu film to be directed by Bhaskar of Bommarilu fame. The producers have agreed to work with me in one of their future projects."
After confirming this Ajith has pleasantly joined hands with his most favourite music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja who has delivered good tunes for the actor in films like Dheena, Billa and Aegan.
