Why Captain got no National Award?

Actor turned politician Vijaykanth's next movie Mariyadhai hit the floors amidst the galaxy of stars and directors on the day of Vijayadasami.

Produced by T.Shiva, the producer of Saroja, under his banner Amma Creations, the film is directed by Vikraman.

Vikraman's earlier film with Vijaykanth Vaanatha Pola was a blockbuster which got released in the year 2000, Pongal day. It created a new record in collection among Vijaykanth's films.

The director and his hero Vijaykanth hope a lot on this sentiment and firmly believe that Mariyadhai will also get the same response from the audience.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Vikraman said, "I strongly believe that captain should have got the best actor National Award for our earlier combination Vaanatha Pola. But it did not happen just because of some political reasons, I think. But Mariyadhai will get an award from the National committee surely. Also I made Vaanatha Pola without action blocks. But in Mariyadhai I have made up for it. He has dual roles as father and son in this film..."

In this movie Vijaykanth have 3 heroines Meera Jasmine, Meena and Ambika (the erstwhile dream girl).

Vijaykanth showed happiness at his reunion with Vikraman and hopes that the title Mariyadhai will get its real meaning in the box office too.
