Vettaikkaran, Vijay's 50th Film

Vijay has booked the blockbuster title of the late MGR's Vettaikkaran for his next venture with AVM. It is said that after completing Villu, Vijay is going to play the role of 'box office hunter' in this movie.

After the stupendous hit of Pollathavan and Billa, it has became a trend to use hit movie titles for the new movies of big stars like Ajith, Vijay and others…

See the line of forth coming movies... Padikkathavan (title of a Rajini blockbuster), Ayirathil Oruvan (MGR's classic) and now Vettaikkaran

Vettaikkaran made by Thevar Films in the 60's was the real block buster movie which earned lakhs of share for its distributors,.

It will be Vijay's 50th movie and directed by debutant Babu, a former associate of director Dharani. Asin would be the female lead .

Vijay, who is currently shooting for Prabhu Deva's Villu with Nayantara will soon officially announce this 50th film.

After his short film, Amrithavarshini: A Drop of Warmth, which won jury mention at the Nokia mobile fest held in Mumbai, Nithin Ramakrishnan, an 18-year-old law student of Thrissur Law College and one of the youngest film makers in Kerala, is making his debut into Malayalam film industry with a commercial entertainer, Apoorva.
