Yesterday Pulamai Piththan has vociferously raised his voice against remixing the golden songs of legends like MGR, Sivaji and Rajini. "It is an insult to those classic songs and stalwarts whoever involved in those songs", thundered the poet. He went to the extent of saying that he would sue the music director, who does the remixing thereafter!
[an error occurred while processing this directive] Speaking on the occasion of audio launch of film Ayya Vazhiat the Film Chambers the poet said, "I never object a music director for spoiling his own tunes. But spoiling classical hits of legends like MGR is highly intolerable. I came to know that some one will remix Thalaivar's famous song, Poomazhai thoovi in one of the forth coming films. If I found anything like that definitely I will go to the court to ban the film. Very recently, I heard one of the recent remixes, Ponmagal Vandaal. I was really shocked with the way the music director treated the golden song. What an insult to the great poet and music director of the song."
KJ Yesudas, the veteran singer of South film world also advocated the point raised by Pulamai Pithan. The function was graced by veteran singers, musicians, and lyricists like S Janaki, MS Viswanathan and Muthulingam.
The audio was released by MSV and received by Yesudas. The music is done by Bhagavathi Sivanesan. Ayya Vazhiis directed by Anbazhagan, the director of Kamarasu. The film is expected to be released by the end of January.
Ayya Vazhiis a film made on the life of Vaikunda Sami, a spiritualist, who fought for equality in the society in and around Kanyakumari. When S Janaki was offered to sing for Vaikundaswamy, the veteran singer immediately accepted to sing a song without getting a single penny!
