According to the joint press note issued by the actor and Pyramid Saimira on Tuesday evening, Marmayogi will be a multilingual film in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi and probably in English with a budget of multi-million rupees.
Both both Kamal and Saimira have not mentioned the exact cost of the project. They say in the note, "We would not like to specify the exact cost of the project at this point".
[an error occurred while processing this directive] The story of the film has been written by Kamal Hassan, who also acts in the lead role. As a director Marmayogi is his third film after Hey Ram and Virumandi.
Pyramid Saimira says, "Marmayogi is a high cost, high value project of our time. We would not specify the exact cost of production at this point. A formal agreement has been signed between the parties and a detailed planning for the project is going on at frantic phase. The project will be a land-mark project in the technical as well as cinematic qualities and would try to project Indian cinema internationally in the best possible manner."
They also clearly stated that Pyramid Saimira has made a detailed study and feels that this project will bring adequate profit to all stake holders befitting the risk taken by them.
Meanwhile Kamal Hassan also made his press statement along with Saimira's. The tone of the statement clearly indicates that Kamal is hurt by the media speculation about the film, especially the news that he is going to tie up with Soundarya Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios!
Kamal says in his note, "In recent times a lot has been written about my film Marmayogi. While I am grateful for the coverage, I have to point out that most of the reporting is inaccurate and imaginary.
Especially a news item that Rajkamal Films International is planning to produce the film with some company other than Pyramid Saimira Group and another publication which says that we have pulled out of the deal with Pyramid Saimira Group are disheartening.
Rajkamal Films International and Pyramid Saimira Group are poised to launch Marmayogi, a multi-lingual multi-million dollar magnum opus, very soon."
