Muthalvar Mahathma!

Balakrishnan is surely a director with different thoughts. Once again he comes with a novel as well as historical theme to make a film like his previous one Kamaraj – The King Maker. His Ramana Creations is producing its second movie on Mahatma Gandhi and the same will be launched in a week.

But this is not a biography on our father of nation. Mahatma is made as a fictitious character and brought into the current period. In this film, our Mahathma is going to contest in an election and even become a Chief Minister of the state! That is the reason behind his title Muthalvar Mahathma (Mahathma, the Chief Minister).

Balakrishnan said, "I would like to bring back our father of nation again in the present situation, where the market rules everything, including the national integrity! In my film, our Mahathma plays as a 21st century Gandhi as a man, who makes meaningful intervention to save the country from corrupt people. He reiterates the eternal values of 'simplicity', 'non-violence', and 'satyagraha', which alone can pave way for the progress of the nation. More over, my Mahathma finds a solution to eliminate hunger and poverty from the country, why India alone, from the whole world!"

Balakrishnan firmly told that Gandhian thoughts are still alive and apt to the present society.

S.Kanagaraj, the actor who appeared as Gandhi earlier in Kamaraj – The King Maker is going to play the role of Mahathma in this film. The director is holding talks with leading Indian actors including Nasiruddin Shah and Naana Patekar to play some important roles. The director has already got the approval of Isaignani Ilayaraaja to score music for the film, but officially it is not confirmed yet.

According to the director more details on this project will be released this weekend.
