Ilayaraja's song rules the charts

Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja is ruling the Tamil charts with his songs in 'Katrathu Tamil' and the highlight of the album is the one sung by his father, maestro Ilayaraja. After the highly acclaimed Ram, Yuvan composed some lilting melodies for Jeeva's in this film. This album proves the talents and capability of the young music director and earns him the right to be his father's successor.

The pick of the album is 'Paravaiyai Ennai...' rendered soulfully by Ilayaraja for his son. The album has 6 songs. The rest of the songs too are very good. Though the audio release has been delayed by the audio company for some reasons, the songs prove that it is a worthy wait for music lovers! Katrathu Tamil will be hit the screens all over the world on Friday, Dec 5th.

Jayasurya: There's no looking back

After Currency, young actor Jayasurya has signed in a number of new projects. The important one in the list is Doctor-Patient, directed by Viswanathan, which will feature Jayasurya in the role of a psychiatrist for the first time in his career.

In Doctor-Patient, he plays a different funny psychiatrist named Dr. Ruben Isaac; Mukesh will be his patient. A newcomer will be the heroine.

Others in the cast include Jagathy Sreekumar, Sooraj Venjaranmoodu and Nedumudi Venu. The script is also handled.....

Manikantan:Lord Ayyappa Animated

Manikantan, a full-length animated film produced by India Tales Media with a budget of Rs. 40 crores, will be released simultaneously in five Indian languages (Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu) in August, 2009. Its English version will be released in December, Nalin Singh, Managing Director of India Tales Media, said on Wednesday.

Eight different types of animation techniques like 2D, 3D animation, clay mation, toy mation, oil painting and Kerala murals are being used in the film, which is under production.....

CM wishes Bharathiraja's daughter

The wedding reception of Bharathiraja's daughter Janani Aishwarya was held on Wednesday evening at Mayor Ramanathan Chettiar Hall, Chennai. She is married to Rajkumar Thambiraja, son of an esteemed industrialist.

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi attended the event along with his wife Rajathi Ammal to wish the newly married couple. He also gave them a gift .
