Actor Simbu is all set to start his new film Silambattam on December 7th, Friday, under the banner of Lakshmi Movie Makers (LMM) for whom it will be their 25th film. It is also going to be the directorial debut of cameraman Saravanan. Gossiped with Sneha and Sneha Ullal earlier, Simbu ruled out all those actresses and has a new Mumbai model Sana Khan as the female lead.
Simbu is playing the role of an innocent young boy, like the one he had done in Manmathan. In this film, he plays the role of Poojari of a local temple, who due to some circumstances takes law in his hands and punish the baddies.
The shoot of the film will take place in the temple towns of Tamil Nadu and Andhra. The star cast will also have Santhanam, Ganja Karuppu, Karunaas and music by Dhina. Simbu will not have a release in 2007. His last release was Vallavan, in November 2006 Diwali. Now, he has completed the shooting of his Kaalai, which will hit the screens during Pongal 2008.
