The Comedy Kings of Kollywood, Kaundamani and Senthil may return to their form shortly. News from reliable sources says both Senthil and Koundmani have planned to do a film to mark their return in Tamil. A few days ago, the Tamil Daily Dinakaran had published a survey report about the most successful comedian of Tamil film industry. According to the Survey, Vadivelu is the number one comedy actor and Vivek was declared the runners up. Santhanam and Kanja Karuppu have been placed in the third position. But there was no place for the ace-duo Kaundamani and Senthil in that survey.

No one could match with the successful comedy career of Kaundamani - Senthil. The duo ruled the film industry till 2005. At a stage, Kaundamani stopped accepting films and kept silent for two years. His last film was Suyetchai MLA with Sathyaraaj. But Senthil is still acting in many Tamil and Telugu films. In fact this comedy pair are the saving grace of many Tamil channels. It is very hard to find a channel including the Sun Network without the comedy show of Kaundamani and Senthil. The survey results and the way the newspaper has published the report has annoyed the comedians. They feel that the respect due to them has been denied squarely in this survey.

A few days ago, Kaundamani signed for 3 new films in a row. Now he has decided to return to the comedy track again with his partner Senthil. They are planning to mark their re-entry in big way. Kaundamani said, 'I've always been in the industry and never feel out of this field. I've got a lot of chances from many directors for the past two years. But I didn't accept those offers just because of the repetitiveness. But now I think that this is the right time to re enter the industry. Hereafter Senthil will also appear with me in the forthcoming films...'

Aata in trouble waters

MS Raju's latest offering Aata starring Siddhartha and Ileana has made a good opening but it has now fallen into trouble waters. Veerashankar who had written, directed and produced the Kannada hit film Namma Basava on VRC Movies banner with Puneeth Rajkumar and Gowri Munjal in the lead, had lodged a complaint with the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce, Producers Council and AP Directors Association against MS Raju for the straight lift of certain scenes from his film for their recent release.....

A few decades ago, the Dilip Kumar starrer Ram Aur Shyam worked big time due to its novel premise, among other things. The concept of a seedha-saadha guy and his street-smart twin brother and the incidents that follow kept you thoroughly entertained.
