Finally, Thol Thirumavalavan, the dalit leader turned actor, is very happy now. The Censor Board of India has cleared his film Anbu Thozhi for release. The movie had run into trouble with the Censor Board after the regional censor board has denied the film an A certificate.

Anbu Thozhi has Thirumavalavan playing the role of a rebel leader championing the cause of the Eazham Tamils. After the Censor Board saw the film, they raised strong objections and denied the film an A certificate. They objected to the scenes that are glorifying LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran.

In few scenes, the director also seemed to criticise the foreign policy of the Union Government on Eazham issue. Finally the leader has approached the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, Dr. Karunanidhi and later accepted to cut few scenes after the advice of the CM.

As per reports, the leader has accepted cutting 9 controversial scenes from the film. The director said that they are busy releasing the film. It is expected that the film would hit the screen in August.
