Though the movie is considered as a tough deepavali competitor , the movie is not thought to get the responce that all other simbu hits got.According to verdits the movie has only occupied a handfull of theaters in tamil nadu it self because of vijay's thuppaki which is concidered to be a blockbuster .One other movie that poda podi has to compete with is vikram prabhu's Kumki.Vikramprabhu is the grandson of the legendary south indian actor Sivajiganesan. One other problem poda ppdi movie is facing is that though the movie got the U sensor certificate a lot of the scences has be edited.
