MUNDASUPATTI Reviews

Oneindia.in

Mundasupatti has been creating a positive noise on social media sites. The team's strategy to ask people to upload a picture of their own and convert them into one with a big moustache and turban of 1980s style has gone well with netizens.

Vishnu and Nandhita starrer movie is directed by Ram Kumar and produced by CV Kumar, who has churned out a few good low-budget movies in the recent history.

Verdict: Mundasupatti is a fun-filled drama. Entertains at first watch.

Newcomer Ram Kumar’s Mundasupatti, which is based on the short film under the same name, revolves around the superstition of people who believe that getting photographed might drastically reduce their lifespan.

The movie starts off with an interesting prelude set in 1947 which shows how the people of Mundasupatti believe that getting photographed would cut their lives short.

This film has provided Vishnu Vishal an opportunity to explore in the comedy genre.

Behindwoods

The period is 1982 and Mundasupatti is a village which is rooted in superstitious beliefs and is inhabited by a primitive bunch of people. These people also staunchly believe that the photo camera is a weapon of mass destruction and reserve photographs only for the dead.

Mundasupatti could have used some trimming as it gets slightly tedious at times but the feeling while coming out, is one of satisfaction.

This debut offering from director Ram Kumar has turned out to be a worthy product from the CV Kumar - Fox Star Studios camp.

Verdict: A feel-good comedy entertainer
