Markandeyan movie is directed by stunt master Fefsi Vijayan who is debuting as a director in tamil. He introduces his son Sabarish in lead role along with actress Niveditha. Srihari plays the baddie and Santhanam takes care of comedy.
Major part of the shoot has done in remote bamboo forests & it shows the life of people who lives in bamboo jungles.
