Surya denies staring in Sinhalese film

Tamil actor Surya has strongly denied his association with any Sinhalese film producers or film makers. Recently, an English daily had carried an item on the remake of Sinhalese film Devadasigal in Tamil with Surya-Simran in the lead. The director Suresh Kumarasinghe of the film had also also confirmed the news in a press interview.

Tamil activists including Pazha Nedumaran severely criticised Surya for accepting the offer from a director, who is originated from Sinhalese community. But now, Surya has denied all these rumours. The actor, who is busy with his ongoing project Singam, has sent a clarification letter through his media manager Nikil Murugan.


He says, "There is no truth in it. I'm currently acting in Singam directed by Hari. My forthcoming projects are a Hindi movie by Ram Gopal Varma and a film under AR Murugadoss' direction. It will be produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin. This is my actual line up..."
