Ranaut was born to Asha, a school teacher and Amardeep, a businessman. She has a older sister, Rangoli and a younger brother. She was born in a village called Bhambla in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.
She completed most of her schooling in Shimla. She studied science and wanted to be a star all time.
