British singer Adele has postponed five shows and scrapped the remaining nine shows of her sold-out North American tour due to bad health. She has been advised complete rest after being diagnosed with laryngitis. Otolaryngology specialist, from whom she got treatment, has said that she would take a few weeks to recover completely.
“"I'm really frustrated. I was hoping with a weeks rest I'd be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctors advice and rest some more. I'm so sorry. See you soon, love Adele," Hollywood Reporter quoted her statement.
Adele, who topped the UK album charts for 16 weeks with her album '21', was recently voted the Most Powerful person in the British music industry. She beat the likes of Simon Cowell, Jay-Z and Damon Albarm in the Music Power 100 poll conducted by the Guardian newspaper.
