London (ANI): Simon Cowell's new girlfriend has enraged her fellow Afghans with a picture that shows her boobs being groped by a gay singing star. In the pic, American Idol make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy, 36, can be seen grabbed by singer Clay Aiken, reports the Daily Star.
The shot is nothing more than a studio prank as Aiken, 31, is openly gay and a pal of Simon Cowell. However, Mezhgan is facing threats and abuse since they were posted on the website Afghan Buzz. Now, it is feared she may be targeted by Muslim fanatics.
Scores of angry bloggers besieged the website with hate messages. One, using the name Amiri, declared: "Shame on her and shame on this site. Look at her blouse - even the product name is written there." Another, named Raaz, fumed: "I wish she was not an Afghan person. The bitch should know where to place her picture and it should not be on an Afghan website."
An insider at American Idol's base at Fox Studios in LA said: "Simon is absolutely petrified that someone may physically target him and Mezhgan. She tried to play the whole thing down at first and it's true that the pictures are harmless and she and Clay are simply larking around."
"But she seems to have provoked a tidal wave of anger that just keeps growing and Simon now insists they are both shadowed by minders wherever they go," the insider added.
