The image is one of the tamer ones taken during his 1985 '7800 degree Fahrenheit" tour. Former tour manager Rich Bozzett has included the shot in his new memoir, 'Sex, Drugs and Bon Jovi." Bozzett said that the stage photo, shot by famed rock photographer Ross Marino, was meant for publicity.
“This is an outtake of a photo shoot. Everyone should be so lucky at 22 years old," the New York Post quoted Bon Jovi"s spokesperson as saying while shrugging off the images. “A panic-stricken Jon Bon Jovi immediately called up Doc (his manager McGhee) to tell him that we needed to track down the pictures as soon as possible," wrote Bozzett.
Since Bozzett was bilked out by McGhee and denied his share of the band, he pocketed the negatives. Even after being asked by Bon Jovi to destroy the negatives, Bozzett kept them in a safety-deposit box until 2009, when he decided to write the book.
