[an error occurred while processing this directive]London (ANI): Simon Cowell is being wooed by the likes of British PM Gordon Brown and Conservative Party leader David Cameron for getting into politics. Both the leaders believe that the ''X Factor'' supremo would make British politics more popular with young voters in the wake of the expenses scandal.

And, according to Chas Newkey-Burden, author of 'Simon Cowell: The Unauthorised Biography', said that his reward could be a peerage, making the 50-year-old media mogul Sir Simon Cowell. "Simon Cowell is a rare combination. He's incredibly rich and comes from a posh background but has the common touch," The Daily Star quoted him as saying.

"He can push so many different buttons and this makes him a red hot prospect for politicians. They would run over each other to get to his side. The public is so cheesed off with politics at the moment and an endorsement from him could just swing it for one of the parties," he added.

The news comes as teenagers named Simon alongside Martin Luther King and Moses, among the all-time greatest leaders in a poll for the Prince's Trust, which is aimed at creating a generation of inspirational young leaders. A source close to the X Factor supremo admitted: "Simon's happy making TV shows at present and I cannot see him being interested in becoming an MP."

"But a peerage might be a different matter. After all, Alan Sugar and Andrew Lloyd-Webber are both Lords, so why not Simon?" he said. Simon, whose fortune tops 100million pounds, has been invited to a dinner at No 10. He has also dined with David Cameron.

However, a spokeswoman for Simon declined to comment.
